Central Bank Predictions A “Wake-up Call” For Rural Communities

The Inagh-based CEO of Muintir na Tíre has described Central Bank predictions on the fallout of a no deal Brexit as a wake-up call for rural communities like Clare.

Major job losses in agriculture, tourism and the small and medium enterprise sectors have been predicted, if there’s a no deal Brexit later this month.

It warns there could be 73,000 fewer jobs by 2021, with economic growth next year slowing down from 4.3 percent to just 0.8 percent, if the UK crashes out of the EU without a deal.
