Clare FM has scooped two honours at this year’s IMRO Radio Awards.

Clare’s local station claimed the Silver honour in the Local Station of the Year category at the most prestigious awards for Irish radio, which were held in Kilkenny.

Meanwhile, there was another Silver award for the station in the Documentary category, for The Rescue, which told the story of Jim Warny and the rescue of a trapped soccer team from a flooded cave in Thailand.

Clare FM’s flagship current affairs programme,  Morning Focus, and the station’s news output were also nominated for other awards on the night.

The awards are the latest for the station which last month celebrated 30 years of broadcasting in the Banner County.
