Anger After Clare Bus Loses Contract

Clare’s Independent TD has accused the government of using the Covid-19 crisis to hide ‘bad news’.

Scarriff Deputy Michael McNamara is speaking after the National Transport Authority announced that the management of Clare Bus has lost the contract it won in December of last year.

It means that a caretaker manager will take over operations of the company, which operates twelve routes, from this morning.

Deputy McNamara says it’s not the first piece of news the government has passed through, since the Covid-19 outbreak became a national issue and he’s calling for the decision to be reviewed.
