Alarm Over High Number Of Femicides

The Clare Women’s Network claims more inter agency work is needed to curb the alarmingly high number of femicides in this country.

New figures contained in a Women’s Aid report show 230 women have been killed in Ireland since 1996, including 5 so far this year.

Over half were killed by a current or ex-boyfriend, husband or partner.

Project Coordinator of the Clare Women’s Network, Elaine Dalton has been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill that the numbers are shocking.
