No Issues Reported At Clare Checkpoints Despite Increase In Traffic Volumes

Gardaí in Clare say no major issues were reported at checkpoints on roads across the county over the May Bank Holiday weekend.

An analysis of traffic data, which has been carried out by the Irish Times, found a 33% increase in traffic volumes between the Barefield and Crusheen Junctions on the M18 on Friday and Saturday, compared to the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

But Clare’s Crime Prevention officer says the public were for the most part in compliance with the HSE guidelines, while Patrols were carried out at beaches, parks and natural beauty spots, where there were also no breaches encountered there.
