Motorists Caught Speeding In Clare During National Slow Down Day

130 people have been caught speeding so far on National Slow Down Day today.

Gardaí are out in force in an attempt to crack down on speeding motorists, while speed cameras are on roads across Ireland where fatal crashes are happening as a result of speeding.

Between 7am and 4pm, Gardaí and speed vans checked over 110,738 vehicles.

In Clare, there were three detections travelling in excess of the applicable speed limit.

One car was caught travelling at 128 kilometres per hour in a 100 kilometre zone on the N18 near Cratloe.

Another clocked 96 kilometres per hour in an 80 kilometre zone on the R352 near Tulla.

And a third was caught doing 94 kilometres per hour in an 80 kilometre zone on the R458 near Crusheen.
