Man Due Before Courts Following Clare Drugs And Cash Seizure

A man is due before the courts in connection with a drugs and cash seizure in Clare.

At around 3 o’clock yesterday, Gardaí from the Clare Divisional Roads Policing Unit were carrying out a speed check on the dual carriageway at Bunratty, when they detected a car travelling at 150 kilometres per hour in the 100 km zone.

After the car failed to stop, a managed Garda pursuit ensued and after an hour, the car pulled over.

During the course of the incident, a package was thrown from the car in the Quin area – this was subsequently recovered and contained €1,000 of suspected cocaine and controlled drugs.

The suspected drugs will now be sent for analysis.
