Justice Minister Promises More Visible Frontline Policing Under New Operational Model

The Justice Minister insists there will be less bureaucracy and more frontline policing of Clare under the new operational model for the force.

Clare and Tipperary are set to amalgamate from January, with news emerging this week that Ennis has been chosen as the location for the divisional base.

This has received a broad welcome in Clare, where concern had been expressed that the county would lose out to Tipperary, despite having an international airport.

Speaking on Tipp FM, Charlie Flanagan dismissed concerns in that county about the impact of headquartering the division in Ennis and says that it will in fact mean the top Gardaí for each county will be much more accessible.
