Gardaí in Clare are urging residents to contact them if people dressed in protective gear, call to your home, offering to disinfect your property.
It follows a number of reports of similar activity in other parts of the country.
Superintendent Brendan McDonagh of Ennis Garda Station says these people could be targeting homes with a view to carrying out criminal activity.
