A Kildysart woman is warning people to be wary of a sophisticated phone scam, where the caller claims to be ringing about a tax refund.
Carmel Eustace received a call from an 051 number, which is registered in the South East of Ireland, and the man said he was from Revenue’s tax department.
He told her she was due a refund of €862 and asked for her bank details.

Anyone who receives a similar call is urged to report it to their local Garda station.
