A Clare haulier believes the Essex container deaths has tarnished the reputation of Irish Haulage Industry.

It comes as a 25-year-old man from Armagh appeared in court in Chelmsford yesterday, charged with the manslaughter of 39 people who died in a lorry last week.

Maurice Robinson, who is also charged with conspiracy to traffic people and money laundering, was remanded in custody to appear again next month.
