Clare Gardaí are warning the public to be on alert following reports of a sophisticated scam targeting people’s emails.
In the last few weeks, these economics crimes have happened when bank details have been shared over email, and a number of people have been scammed out of substantial amounts of money.
Clare’s Crime Prevention Officer says it’s still unclear how those behind the scam are intercepting people’s emails.
