Anger is being expressed by Clare Councillors over planned changes to switch the co-ordination of Clare Bus services to Limerick.

The issue dominated much of last evening’s local authority meeting, which heard Councillors from across the county, and across the different political groupings, all speaking in favour of retaining the Office in Clare.

It co-ordinates the bus fleet, which will continue to run after this move, but it’s feared the service could be greatly diminished or even threatened by the switch.

The decision is being made by the NTA, who are due to meet with the county’s Oireachtas members on Thursday.

Clare Bus Manager Chris Kidney says that while buses will continue to run, the change endangers the future of the service.
