Clare County Council is being encouraged to re-visit road safety works that it carried out at a busy Ennis crossroads last year, amid concerns that they haven’t solved the issues there.

Mayor of Clare Councillor Mary Howard has flagged the concerns of locals living close to Ballymacahill Cross on the Tulla Road on the outskirts of the town.

After locals raised safety concerns last year, Clare County Council carried out a host of safety works including the installation of a pedestrian crossing, but now there are worries that this is located too close to the crest of a hill, and that lighting there is inadequate.
