Council Unveils Plans For ‘Game Changing’ Ennis Data Centre Development

Clare County Council has unveiled plans for what it is describing as a “game changing” data centre development for Ennis.

It’s seeking to amend the county development plan to assist with the planning application for the facility, which would be located on a 51 hectare site close to the Tulla Road junction of the M18 motorway.

The local authority estimates 1,100 jobs would be created during construction, along with another 1,000 direct and indirect jobs when it’s fully open.

Plans were presented to Councillors last evening, one year after the Council first announced plans for Clare to become a hub for data centres, and Council Director of Services Liam Conneelly says the development could be significant for Ennis and Clare.
