Council To Hear Calls For Appeals System On Second Homes Tax

There are calls for an appeals system for Clare homeowners who feel their properties should be exempt from the Non Principal Private Residents tax.

The 200 euro charge levied on people with more than one property raised was introduced in 2009 and all the monies rased are distributed amongst local authorties across the country.

It applies to any householder that has a second property, ranging from holiday homes, rental properties to those inherited from family members.
