Clare County Council says it’s still exploring options for the re-location of a herd of feral goats on the outskirts of Ennis.

The goats, which are said to have been trampling on cars and gardens around the Kilrush Road area of the town, have been discussed at the monthly meeting of Ennis-area Councillors, which heard calls for them to be castrated to stop them breeding.

The local authority says it’s seeking to contact animal sanctuaries and welfare organisations to arrange for the removal of the animals, and a request has been made for signage to warn drivers in the area.
