Clare County Council is seeking funding to change all road signs for Lahinch to the correct spelling.
There are currently conflicting signposts around the county, with some spelling it with an A and some with an E.
After discussing the ongoing concerns raised locally, the council took the decision to seek finance from Transport Infrastructure Ireland to change all the signs to spell it with an A.
