Construction on the new county library is expected to begin early next year.
Clare County Council says tender documents for the project are being prepared, and these are expected to be issued in September.
This will see a contractor appointed to construct the 8.7 million euro facility that will be located adjacent to Glór in Ennis, replacing the existing De Valera library.

Subject to Department approval, the Council anticipates that construction will then begin in the first quarter of 2019.
