Clare County Council has collected 40 tonnes of illegally dumped household waste from a number of sites around the county.

The clean-up operation cost around €40,000, with that funding coming from the Department of the Environment.

The sites in Tulla, Killimer and Clarecastle are notorious blackspots for illegal dumping and to prevent it happening again, CCTV has been installed as a deterent.

Environmental Awareness Officer with Clare County Council Karen Foley says it’s important this stops happening.
