More digital hubs are set to be opened in Clare by the end of the year, as an increased number of workers look to work remotely.
Council CEO Pat Dowling has told Councillors that the local authority is looking to support the opening of up to six more hubs by the end of the year, although the Council isn’t saying where they will be located.
Instead, tit’s only confirming that they will be in what are described as ‘strategic locations’ although it is known that plans are afoot for one significant broadband hub in Ennis.
Remote working facilities, which are equipped with broadband access and provide co-working and hot-desk facilities, are already open in Ennistymon, Kilrush, Miltown Malbay and Feakle.
Kilkee Fianna Fáil Councillor Cillian Murphy says the increase in working from home during the COVID pandemic shows the need to think more about working remotely.
