Clare County Council has allocated over €655,000 on private house grants so far this year.

Just under €400,000 has been spent on Housing Aid Grants, 162 thousand has been spent on housing adaptation grants, and 93 thousand euro on Mobility Aids Grants.

The Dáil was recently told that Clare’s Council was one of two local authorities that had not availed of State funding for such works, but the Council says this is likely due to a delay in processing their claim to the Department.

Clare County Council says it has sought and received extra funding for these works over recent years, and signals its intention to continue its work in this area by calling that funding “invaluable.”
