An Ennis councillor has accused the Health Minister of delivering a ‘slap in the face’ to family carers after it was revealed that they will have to wait longer for a COVID-19 vaccine than professional carers.
Minister Stephen Donnelly says the decision is based on the clinical advice of the National Immunisation Advisory Committee.
Independent Councillor Ann Norton contracted COVID-19 back in April of last year, and is also a carer for her daughter Nicole, who has cerebral palsy.
