U.S. Extends Travel Ban To Ireland

International aviation is being heavily curtailed as governments introduce measures to contain the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak.

From Tuesday, Ireland and the UK are being added to a travel ban that President Trump had already applied to other EU states, which means non-residents will not be able to fly to the US.

American citizens and legal residents will be able to fly home, bu the number of flights available looks set to be scaled back significantly

Meanwhile, Ryanair has grounded all flights to Poland until the end of the month after the government there banned all passenger flights and closed its borders for fourteen days.

Ryanair also says it’s “serverly reducing” flights to Spain, including the Balearic and Canary islands, until Thursday

The moves will greatly reduce levels of air travel, including at Shannon.
