New stricter measures may be brought in where people aren’t practicing social distancing.

906 people now have Covid 19 here, including 7 in Clare.

A fine weekend of weather resulted in social-distancing guidelines broken in many parts of the country, with Gardaí in Clare restricting access to the beach in Lahinch, after hundreds descended on the the area.

While Civil Defence were also deployed to the North Clare beach as well as to Kilkee to remind beach goers of the importance of social distancing.

The National Public Health Emergency Team will meet tomorrow to consider if stricter measures are necessary.
