Sinn Féin Calls For Increased Shannon Supports

Clare’s Sinn Féin TD says it’s vital that Shannon Airport is given additional financial supports to help it emerge from the COVID crisis.

Violet Anne Wynne, along with her party colleagues from the MidWest, have held talks with Shannon Group CEO Mary Considine, at which the financial and logistical challenges faced by the Airport were discussed.

Before the pandemic, Shannon had forecast a growth in passengers in 2020, after a fall-off last year due in part to the issues associated with the Boeing 737 Max aircraft.

Now, passenger flights there are virtually grounded and Deputy Wynne says the Airport needs support so it can return to business as soon as possible.
