Remainder of Clare Second Level Students Return To School As Restrictions Ease

Thousands of secondary school students will be returning to classrooms across Clare this morning as post primary schools welcome back the remainder of their student body.

Today sees the return of the majority of second level classes as level five restrictions ease, with first to fourth years resuming their in class studies.

Classes for these second level students have been taking place exclusively online since January right up until the Easter break.

Principal of CBS Ennistymon Mary Lyons says she and her staff are mindful of the impact such a lengthy spell out of the classroom has had on students.

The five kilometre travel limit has also been lifted, with people free to travel within their county or 20 kilometres from their home.

Two households are allowed to meet outside – but not in private gardens.

All home building will resume today, with non-essential construction works re-opening on a phased basis.
