The CEO of the Burren Ecotourism Network believes there’s still a positive outlook for the tourism sector in the short-term, despite an expected drop in international visitors.

Jarlath O’Dwyer believes there will be a heavy reliance on the domestic market over the next 18 months and that the whole sector will have to be re-imagined to cope with a fall-off in visitors from other countries.

The network has launched a special Burren gift voucher, redeemable in almost 65 different businesses in the Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark, which allows people to plan a trip there or to send to family and friends.

Jarlath O’Dwyer says many people are planning now to explore Ireland more.
