Increase In Number Of Clare Carers Reaching Out To Samaritans

The Ennis-Clare Branch of Samaritans says the number of carers seeking the services of their support line has jumped during the pandemic.

Samaritans have released their 2019 Impact Report, which shows that someone phones the service every 49 seconds and almost 4 in 10 calls relate to mental health concerns.

The Director of the Ennis-Clare Branch of Samaritans says that as many day centres and other facilities that care for the disabled have been closed, primary carers have been overwhelmed and have been seeking help.
