Hotel Doolin Brings COVID Meals Service To An End

Hotel Doolin has announced it’s bringing an end to its local meal delivery service, which had been setup at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since March, when the hotel was forced to close its doors, it has supplied over 1,000 meals free of charge to members of the Doolin, Lisdoonvarna and Kilshanny communities.

Now, however, they’ve taken what they describe as the ‘heartbreaking’ decision to bring the service to an end, after failing to secure funding to support it.

The Stella Maris Day Centre in Lisdoonvarna is resuming its meals on wheels service, which will continue to support people in the area, and Hotel Doolin manager Donal Minihane says they’re focusing on reopening the hotel now.
