Greens Call On Council To Convert Parking Spaces To Outdoor Seating Areas

Green party members in Clare are calling on the Council to seriously consider re-designating parking spaces in towns and villages across the county as areas for outdoor seating.

It comes amid ongoing discussions over the pedestrianisation of Ennis Town Centre, a move that looks increasingly likely after it got the backing of 70% of businesses in a recent survey.

Tuamgraney-based Green Party member Barry O’Donovan says more needs to be done across the county, to ensure physical distancing is possible, in the wake of the public health emergency.

He’s acknowledged that it will require investment but feels there’s no other option.
