The newly-elected Vice President of Ennis Chamber says the burden of the bill that Ireland will be left with after COVID-19 must be shared equally.

Figures from the Department of Social Protection this week revealed that 12,100 people across Clare are now in receipt of the emergency COVID-19 payment, having lost their jobs as a result of the virus.

They’re among around half a million people nationwide who have had to draw down the payment, while it means over 700,000 in total are now on some form of unemployment benefit in Ireland.
