COVID-19 Crisis Requires Cohesive Cross-Party Action – Crowe

The Taoiseach says older people and those with a long term illness will be advised at some point to cocoon themselves for several weeks during the coronavirus crisis.

Last night Leo Varadkar gave a televised address, calling on people to maintain social distancing and praising the work of the health service.

292 people now have covid-19 in Ireland and the Taoiseach warned that may rise to 15,000 by the end of the month.

Meanwhile, Clare’s Fianna Fáil TD says party divides are “out of the question” during the COVID-19 pandemic and cohesive action is needed from Dáil Éireann.

Ennis-based Retail Excellence has called for all business costs to be suspended immediately, as it warns 200,000 more jobs could be lost by the weekend.

Meelick Deputy Cathal Crowe is backing that call and says all TDs need to put party politics aside to guide the country at this time.
