Clare’s Fine Gael TD says difficulties faced by people working remotely during the pubilc health emergency highlight the importance of pushing ahead with the delivery of the National Broadband Plan.

Under the plan, 89 million euro will be invested in Clare over the coming years to deliver high speed broadband to over 22,300 homes, businesses and farms in county.

Since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, many people have been working from home, and Clarecastle Deputy Joe Carey believes that once life returns to normal, there will be an opportunity for businesses to allow for more remote working.

But he says it will require adequate infrastructure.
