Clare TD Again Calls On NTA For Clarity On Future Of Clare Bus Service

Clare’s Fianna Fáil TD is once again calling on the National Transport Authority to provide clarity on the future of the Clare Bus service.

In March, a new operator was appointed to oversee the routes, after responsibility was removed from Clare Accessible Transport when a new contract could not be agreed with the National Transport Authority.

The NTA said in March that it was putting alternative arrangements in place “on an interim basis,” but Deputy Crowe says the new service is more expensive than the Clare Bus model.

Deputy Crowe has requested talks between the NTA and Clare Accessible Transport to resolve the matter, but the NTA has declined, something Deputy Crowe says is regrettable.

Clare FM has sought comment on the matter from the NTA, and is awaiting a response.
