Clare IFA Chair Hits Out At €80m Aid Package For Not Going Far Enough

The Clare Chair of the IFA insists the €80 million European aid package for farmers simply doesn’t go far enough.

The European Commission’s suite of COVID-19 emergency measures include private storage aid for dairy and meat products while demand remains low; as well as the temporary withdrawal of products from the market for up the six months.

Farming representative groups have criticised the package as not going far enough at a time when the sector is under severe pressure.
