Clare Businesses Forced To Close May Be Entitled To Defer Commercial Rates Payments

Clare businesses forced to close their doors as a result of the Coronavirus crisis may be entitled to defer commercial rates payments for the next three months.

The Government has told local authorities that they should agree to defer rates payments in the retail, hospitality, leisure and childcare sectors until the end of May.

Clare County Council has urged rate payers experiencing difficulties in paying their rates to contact the local authority, and that they will be dealt with on a case by case basis, as the impact is not uniform.
