Conway Says Council Must “Think Outside The Box” For Blake’s Corner Solution

Clare’s Senator is urging Clare County Council to “think outside the box” and examine any option that could alleviate traffic problems at Blake’s Corner.

Long-term plans to deal with traffic congestion at the notorious traffic blackspot will proceed to planning by the end of the year but locals in Ennistymon have called for a temporary solution in the meantime, such as a traffic warden.

Gardaí have ruled this out for now, citing a lack of resources, and Senator Martin Conway says he doesn’t believe that would solve the problem.

The Ennistymon representative believes that a long term solution is the only way to solve the ongoing problem but he insists all options need to be looked at to reduce tensions there.
