Concerns Over Waste Production During Pandemic

There are concerns over the amount of waste that is being produced during the pandemic.

With single-use plastic gloves being used daily and at times disposed of on the ground, as well as many people using disposable coffee cups as per health guidance, Ireland’s waste production is growing.

Cormac McCarthy, from Ennis Tidy Towns, says while recycling quotas are being met, the focus needs to be on reducing plastic usage.
