Concerns have been raised over the further spread of Japanese Knotweed across East Clare.

Clare County Council is carrying out work to keep public roads and spaces free from the species.

The weed can kill other plants and cause structural damage to roads and buildings.

The local authority is urging anyone who spots it to report it – Bodyke Fine Gael Councillor Joe Cooney says it causes serious issues.
