Concerns In Clare About High Rate Of Dolphin & Whale Strandings

Concern is being expressed in Clare about the high number of dolphin and whale strandings seen in Ireland so far this year.

93 dolphins, whales and porpoises have washed up on Irish shores in the first two months of 2021 – only four of these were successfully refloated.

2020 saw an unprecedented number of 70 animals washed up in the winter months, with that number having now increased by nearly a third.
