Concerns Over Changes To Policing In Clare

Concerns have been expressed over changes to policing in the Clare Garda Division.

Sixmilebridge Councillor Alan O’Callaghan has welcomed confirmation that the county’s new Chief superintendent Michael Gubbins, the current head of the Garda’s Cyber Crime Bureau, will take up his position here by the end of this month.

But an Garda Síochana has also confirmed that a new computer aided dispatch control room, situated in Galway, now has responsibility for deploying mobile resources across the Western Region, including the Clare Garda Division.
