Concern At Lack Of Will Among Government To Reform Insurance Sector

An Ennis insurer is expressing concern about the government’s willpower to enact new legislation to tackle spiraling insurance costs.

It comes as Insurance Ireland has expressed concern about what they’ve labelled a ‘lack of urgency’ in reforming the industry to reduce costs for customers.

As things stand, settlement costs here are up to four times higher than in the UK and it’s been two years since a report into the industry gave a series of recommendations aimed at tackling the discrepancy.
