Concern That Irish Beef Sector Will Flounder Without EU Aid Post-Brexit

The Clare Chair of the IFA insists Ireland’s beef sector will flounder without EU aid, if Britain crashes out of the EU.

It comes as British MP Michael Gove has stated that in the event of a no-deal exit, tariffs will be imposed on food imports to protect British farmers’ incomes.

Ireland’s Department of Agriculture estimates that will cost €1.7 billion to Ireland’s agri-food sector overall.
