Concern Over “Imminent” Fodder Crisis

Concern has been expressed in Clare over what’s been described as an imminent fodder crisis.

Heavy rainfall in recent months has led to waterlogged land in many parts of the county, resulting in farmers taking their animals in and having to use their winter feed stock earlier.

It’s feared there will be a repeat of the major fodder crisis that hit the county in the winter of 2012/2013, where in some cases, farmers queued for hours to buy a single bale of silage in West Clare.
