Concern That Ennis Train Station Will Attract Anti-Social Behaviour Unless It Is Cleaned Up

Fear is being expressed that Ennis Train Station will become a hive for anti-social behaviour if something isn’t done to clean it up.

The station was once again highlighted in the IBAL anti-litter league survey as an area of concern in the county town in terms of littering.

However, Ennis did climb from 22nd to 14th place in the analysis of 40 towns and cities and has reclaimed its status as Cleaner Than European Norms.

But worries remain about the impact of the litter issue at the train station, which is used by thousands of commuters to and from Limerick and Galway annually.

Ennis Fine Gael Councillor Mary Howard, who is a member of Ennis Tidy Towns, has been telling Clare FM’s James Mulhall that it’s an issue of concern, despite the major improvement in the overall result.
