Active Retirement Welcomes €1m Support Fund For Older People

The Shannon-based President of Active Retirement Ireland has welcomed a €1 million fund for support services for older people as a boost in their fight against loneliness.

Minister of State for Older People Jim Daly made the announcement as part of the government’s Community and Voluntary Supports Grant Scheme.

It focuses on four key areas – positive ageing, the national dementia strategy, carers strategy and the taskforce on loneliness.
