Community Rally Behind Corofin Girl Diagnosed with Rare Condition

The community of Corofin is rallying behind a ten-year-old girl who sustained catastrophic injuries in a play ground incident in December.

Zara Cronin from Dysert was left in a wheelchair and had to have four screws put into her skull to support it, after the accident.

The serious nature of the injuries was later to put down to the rare Ehler Danlos syndrome which Zara was diagnosed with earlier this month.

Zara is now waiting for rehabilitation to help her to walk again and faces long and costly treatment.

Ahead of a major fundraising event on May 4 at Treacy’s Hotel in Ennis, Zara’s mother Anne O’Gorman says they’re taking the treatment one day at a time.
