Colleran Molloy Hopeful For Clare Despite COVID Crisis

The outgoing Mayor of Clare has expressed hope for the future of both Clare and Ireland, despite the ongoing threats posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Clare Colleran Molloy saw her tenure as the county’s first citizen come to an end this week, when she was replaced by Mary Howard.

Councillor Colleran Molloy had only been in the role since February, having been co-opted into the position to replace Cathal Crowe, but found herself in the role at a time of unprecedented challenges.

Speaking at this week’s Council AGM, the Fianna Fáil representative contrasted the situation here with her former home of the US, saying America lacks “moral political leadership.”

However, she’s much more optimistic about the situation here.
