Clonlara Resident “Cautiously Optimistic” About Flood Relief Project

A planning application for the long-awaited flood relief measures in Springfield, Clonlara is expected to be lodged in early June.

If follows a recent visit by Flood Relief Minister Kevin ‘Boxer’ Moran to the area, in which he told residents that the Part 8 application will be lodged by Clare County Council by then.

An environmental objection lodged in November last saw the local authority withdraw its plans to address the persistent issues there, three years on from severe floods that led to people being evacuated from their homes.
